comic fourteen - nevermind rapture, here's wanglowski, part one

I work really really far ahead when I write the comics and blog entries. It's May 1st as I write this, but you guys won't read this until July 22nd. It's almost like someone from the past is coming to the future to deliver this information. Heh heh.

I also have to mention the new format this month. I used the 8 panels per page out of sheer convenience (and laziness), but I can't do it anymore. It doesn't look good, and I wanted to do ACTUAL page layout. Aw,who am I kidding?... we all know why I'm doing actual page layout... I can't draw backgrounds and this will hide that fact even more! MWAH HAH HAH HAH HAH!

Anyway, this is another very old comic, but not as old as the ghost one. This comic is derived from my thousands of trips to the Poconos (particularly Tannersville) with my parents and my friend Amanda. You'll see more of that once this story arc gets going, though.

This comic was written in college, back when I really had no idea where I wanted to go with the story. I want to say that maybe it was written in 1999 or so, because that was around when my comic got a HUGE face lift and began to evolve into what it is today. When I wrote this comic, the crystal had already become the center of the story, so there was much more usable material when this comic got it's rewrite.

Also, This one has been really interesting to write, because this comic, unlike the previous story arc, has never been drawn before. It's only ever been an idea on paper, for ten years! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.
