comic eight - magic ian's magixstravaganza, part five

All right, so as you know, I like to beat up my characters. A lot. What can I say? I grew up watching looney tunes just like everyone else did. Mallets to the head, Anvils falling from large buildings, and guns making your beak turn around. I love that stuff. It's sad how cartoons have to be so politically correct anymore. I guess the parents were worried about children dropping anvils on their parents. Or shooting their beaks.

I realize it's a valid concern, and parents who don't want their children to be exposed to silly cartoon violence don't have to let their kids read my comic now, do they? Personally though, I'd rather take the light hearted approach to comic book violence, than the approach that many graphic novelists take. Blood, gore and body parts everywhere. No thanks. I'd trade that for a well placed anvil any day!

In all actuality, I really think I just like drawing my characters with their "beaten up" faces. It's so damned fun! :P

Anyway, speaking of "beaten up faces", Torture is beaten up in this comic, Jack Flannigan is still doing his bad guy thing, and Robbie is everyone's only hope! Can he succeed? Read the comic and find out cause I'm not going to tell you!

See you all next month for the EXCITING conclusion to the Magic Ian story arc! After that, it's GHOSTS GHOSTS and more GHOSTS! See you then!
